No I am not actually taking entrants yet, not yet. I am merely using this opportunity to gauge interest in the game so I know how many player slots I must prep for and figure out which roles I should use to account for the player count.

I've posted a rough draft of rules here, which also contains a myriad of role cards I have prepared, with no guarantee I will actually use them all.

Once I've gauged how many people are interested and figured out which roles to use, I will edit this post with the rules and the roles I've decided to put into the game.

Anyway, please post here or like this post if you're interested.

If people teach me how to play, I'd be interested
The base idea of the game is pretty simple. If you've played Among Us, you will understand the basics of how it works. It's learning how all the roles work and how they interact with each other that's the real meat of it all.

Comparing it to Among Us feels very fitting, yeah.

But more specifically, it's very close to the Town of Us mod since everyone will have an active role. Not to mention a lot of its roles are inspired by Town of Salem, hence the name.

Speaking of which, if you've ever played Town of Salem, that's basically Werewolf which is just Mafia but with different flavor and personally, way more intuitive when it comes to explaining why the main enemy faction only kills at night so if you ever played that, you've played Mafia and you'll be fine.

Among Us is basically mafia just with the intermission having a game inbetween

Town of Salem leans more Mafia than Werewolf, but its both

is there honestly a difference between mafia and werewolf?

pretty sure their the same thing just with different flavor... and i guess mafia is more inclined for roles then just allegiance but like thats not stopping werewolf at all

Honestly not super sure, haven't played a lot of werewolf, I just know Town of Salem specifically has Godfathers, Mafioso's and other Mafia specific faction roles by default

They are literally the same game, Fire

Like Katt said (and also like I said earlier), any difference is purely flavor. They are functionally identical otherwise.

I made the account as soon as I saw this thread so consider me interested. I was actually just thinking about how I missed Mafia games.
I can't really read the role cards on mobile right now though, but I'll give em a read later.

Ok I finished reading these and I really like them, the cards look really nice and the abilities are flavorful but simple.
The idea of all possible roles being known is cool, not something we ever did before with forum mafias but it makes sense to a game focused on them this way, I dig it!

EDIT: I don't have any notes on the roles themselves, I think they all look good but Raven beak stands out to me in that it's a sitting duck if it ever does anything. My only suggestion would be to make the Piercing have cooldown instead of the ability to carry out kills instead or shorten the cooldown itself.

Has the balance point of not every role appearing in the live game since there's so many.

Raven Beak I balanced on a thought progress of "Well if by any chance there's a lot of mafia then he can be in as the dedicated "Fuck You" cannon" but Shishoe do have a valid point so I think I will rework him. There's plenty of time to get that done

Patch Notes for EXP Mafia 1.01

Reworked Raven Beak
Previously: You have permanent Piercing. However, if you carry out the Mafia Kill, you will need to take a break for four days
Now: When you carry out the Mafia Kill, you can gain Piercing. Your ability will be on cooldown for 3 nights after use
Added New Mafia Role: Nemesis
Added New Town Role:
Parakarry

I just realized something.

Not a single ARMS role on an EXP Mafia.

I can understand the lack of Baboom since the entire point is that he always wins but like... no ARMS?
