On December 2nd, 2024, the body of Opossum J. Experiencepoint has been discovered, mere minutes after the biannual event known as the Emote Purge.

A beloved and proactive member of the community, the late Opossum had recently met some backlash in the latest Purge due to enabling the execution of emotes that were particularly beloved yet only received one vote. Normally, voting an emote should make them able to survive the Purge, but article 4.20 of the Purge Declaration™ established in June 1st, 2023 declares that if less than 30 emotes receive no votes, additional emotes will be randomly chosen from the pool of those voted once until the minimum amount of 30 emotes has been purged. Yet many felt targeted by the ones selected for execution, sparking controversy.
However, when informed of Opossum's death, this is what these users had to day, which I have chosen to keep the identity hidden for their privacy.
When approached for comment, EXP administrator Moy had this to say:
The EXP staff is currently investigating the matter to figure out who and what caused the death of this beloved yet recently controversial individual.

Update (12/2/2024, 2:23 PM): Since the publishing of this article, it has been discovered that an unknown assailant was responsible for the death of Opossum, with graphic evidence of the deed being revealed to the public.
