Next Super Smash Bros General Speculation Thread

I am admittedly not too knowledgeable of the game outside of a few characters, would someone like Alfonse have much to draw from to be a potential newcomer or would there be better options?
 
Alfonse is generally built around survivability in his standard kits with healing skills, defensive buffs and attack boosts based around his defence plus being able to apply a Divine Vein Stone which reduces damage taken, it's a bit on the plain side but I can see something workable there. The best alternative is going with Veronica who uses magic, staves and has been shown to be able to summon units on her own on top of consistently being able to buff herself and her allies whilst debuffing foes. She's able to summon generics as well as actual characters if you really want to add an element of RNG to her.

Fjorm is another shout as a lance wielder with a focus on Ice and like Alfonse, is pretty defence oriented though more particularly around dealing with ranged foes and countering. Her newest alt can also set down Ice Veins which block movement but can be broken, the closest analogue in a fighting game is Frost's Ice Wall in MK1 and Aganos' stone pillars in KI.

Veronica is probably the most interesting one here to make a moveset for.
 
I don't see a *playable* FEH character happening (although im not sure i would actually be surprised) but something like an assist trophy and stage feels pretty reasonable

Realistically there probably won't be a FEH character but if it is, all in on Veronica.

In 2018, she, along with Celica, won the second round of Choose Your Legends, beating out characters like Camilla, Robin, Corrin, Eirika, Micaiah, Azura... and she's gotten plenty of alts since, along with being the app icon multiple times, so it's not a question of popularity, and I'd definitely consider her the mascot too, especially since she was the one they made an Emblem in Engage, and she's even gotten a nice, fancy 1/7 scale figure, which is typically reserved for Very Important Characters.

Moveset wise, I always just imagined her using magic, since even the basic FEH tomes have some wild animations. All the animal tomes summon giant, magical energy versions of said animal to attack you, and Raven tomes just summon a whole energy unkindness to attack you. So even without doing like, Actual FEH Summons you can get a pretty distinct tome moveset out of it that isnt just Fireball and Lightning.

But also... she would definitely have a Letizia palette, so... no bias.

Excluding "I want to see X because it means Y character gets in"

Literally any other splatoon stage other than moray fucking towers

Sauria (Star Fox)
(I will also accept aparoid home planet from assault)

A sonic stage that isnt a grassy zone (One of eggman's theme parks would be fun IMO)

Traverse Town (Kingdom Hearts. Look i LOVE hollow bastion but. can we have 2 stages? Please : ))

I swear there were Pokemon/LoZ stages I was DYING for ut im blanking

Phendrana Drifts would be nice change from the usual Metroid lava area. With Rainbow Road I kind of feel like they could make a smash original version and I wouldn't mind, Rainbow Road the idea versus Rainbow Road the specific location.

Yeah a industrial zone would be fun for sonic, I feel like Chemical Plant is probably the most famous
 
Chemical Plant, City Escape, or Radical Highway feel like obvious choices but alas

The other day I said Lake Juliet from Another Code Recollection, but otherwise Bowser's Castle is overdue. Give Papa Koop an evil lair already.

I also want a stage from Pokémon Legends Arceus, all of the main areas are great but the Cobalt Coastlands in particular are very beautiful.
 
Yeah, I really just need Bowser's Castle. Genuinely criminal that it's not in yet besides... Paper Mario... which, even if that counted, that part of the stage is awful.
 
I brought up earlier in this thread how I wished Modern Kirby would get more recognition, and to go back to that, a stage from a modern kirby game would be nice. I'd say a stage from Forgotten Land (the Waddle Dee Town I guess?), but we could get a new Kirby game before a new Smash game, so...who knows.

If for whatever reason they never decide to bring back Rainbow Road to Smash, I can think of another Mario Kart track that could make for a cool Smash stage:

They should kill two birds with one stone (the "MK8's stage was lame" bird and the "We need Bowser's Castle" bird) with MK8 Bowser's Castle. Both for the music and the giant Bowser statue.
