Photo of a young long-eared owl my dad took in the garden in 2007. Apparently, the parents just left them there for a while, and came back to pick them up later in the day.

Last year we found a baby screech owl that fell out of its nest on the sidewalk near our house, we called a raptor rescue place and they nursed it back to health
